SCS's first ever Teach Meet!
6th Jul 2016
Sandwell Community School welcomed over 40 colleagues from neighbouring schools, PRUs, Alternative Providers and Residential Schools to our first Teach Meet Event at West Bromwich Campus.
The aim of the event was to network with colleagues from similar settings and to share good practice through short and snappy 5 minute presentations. The event was headlined by guest speaker Errol Lawson - a tearaway teen who has become a motivational speaker and role model for young people.
The afternoon which was sponsored by Teacher Active Agency was a success and hopefully the first of many events.
Sandwell Community School are delighted to invite representatives from Sandwell Secondary Schools and other Alternative Education providers to our fist ever Teach Meet event to be held at 2.00pm on 6th July at the West Bromwich Campus.
The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for staff who work successfully with challenging youngsters to network and share good practice through "5 minute" presentations which showcase something that they do well in their setting that others might find useful. The invitation is open to up to 4 staff from each school including Mentors, SENCO's, staff with responsibility for behaviour or anyone who does something "special" with these youngsters.
To register your interest to attend or to present on the topic 'teaching the unteachables' then please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com by the Monday 27th June 2016.
The event will be hosted by Errol Lawson in association with Teacher Active.
